Telling #MyStory Saved My Life

These are words of wisdom and getting others to speak out about their problems. It was never your fault. Stay positive.

*Trigger warning for sexual violence*

When I was 13, the summer after 8th grade, I was raped on a college campus by a 21-year-old college student. I was attending a summer camp and he was a camp counselor. A campus public safety officer interrupted the act – to admonish us for trespassing – and, by request of the rapist, drove us to the counselor’s car in the back of his patrol car.

The rapist told me not to say a word to the officer “or else.” I was scared and speechless. After the officer departed, to continue his rounds looking for trespassers, I assumed, the rapist took me first to a parking lot, then a field, to continue sexually assaulting me. I had no idea where we were and I was convinced he was going to kill me.

After several hours, he brought me back to the camp. The…

Doctor office visits.

Well anyone knows it’s not fun waiting to see the doctor. No matter what your seeing them for. Sometimes doctors are over worked and under staffed. I have seen many doctors like this. I once sat in a doctor’s office for over 3 hours to be seen. That was horrible because your already miserable and then your bothered with seeing other people. The room is crowded or full of people. Kudos for the doctors that actually see their patients for more than 5 minutes during their busy day. I myself feel that they really have to want to help people to go in debt for medical school and all that other stuff. In today’s world their are pH to few doctors and so many patients that have illnesses.

Some doctors actually are very good doctors that make sure you are in the best of health. I see several doctors and they make sure I understand what’s happening. They also change a medications that don’t work. People who become addicted to prescription drugs have made things very hard for the doctor and patient. Every month it’s like pee in a cup. We need to make sure ur using your meds. I hate it because women have to squat men don’t. People also try to take advantages of Dr or patient. some just do procedures to make money off you. Some are crazy. What do you think?

Strength and Determination Rules Everything!

Well to begin with I am a caring person; who doesn’t mind helping people when they need it. However, what about when you need that favor returned. I have found through recent experiences and past that some people who say they are your friends are in deed not. They could care less about you until something good happens in your life that they could benefit from. I have had to learn over and over again; only to get broken heartened by people. During my pain I had a few friends and some family. I thought some family actually cared about my interest at hand however so not true. It was about what they could take from me when my back was turned. My children are my life and everything. If it were not for them and the grace of God I do not think I would have survived 2 major back surgeries. They are my rock. When I thought my world was worse than could think of; they were there to make me laugh and smile. People will kick you harder when your down.

I have learned throughout this experience that keep your enemies closer than your friends. When you think you have it bad someone else always has it worse. If you get hurt on the job your employer may kick you worse than ever and to add insult to injury they may terminate you. Employers are funny like that. I was so heart broken because I am one who takes pride in working and have gotten my own things on my own. At the same time I was attending college to better myself. The injury caused severe pain, anger, depression. There were so many feelings going on and I was upset because people would look at me when I walked because I have a limp when I’m in pain. I have had people tell me I’m fine nothings wrong with you. Well a few months later and procedures showed that there were things going on bad. I now have a back issue and pain when I stand to long, sit to long or if the weather isn’t right at the moment. I take my medicine as prescribed because finally like 5 pain management doctors later someone is getting it together. My dreams are a bit crushed because I should have been gotten my bachelors in criminal justice. I had to change to a university and I did pull my gpa back up to a 3.50. I’m proud of myself because sometimes I am in so much pain I can’t do homework nor read a book. So I try to find a comfy position and relax. I have nerve pain that shoots down my leg. I have not let this injury keep me down. Although, it has changed many things I am working on strengthening my legs, arms, and back. I can barely hold a pot of noodles because my children love spaghetti and macaroni and  cheese; home made that is. I do not tell this story for anyone to feel sorry or have any pity for me because I am a very strong and determined person.

Determination has made me so strong in many ways it is unbelievable. People are amazed that I keep on pushing. I have an agenda. I show my children that anything can happen and you can make the best out of any situation. Of course with the correct support system. Also now I don’t live in a 2 story home. Everything is on one level. Works terrific. Thank God for my favorite aunt, uncle and cousins that stay on me because I am one stubborn person. But when they tell me do something I do it because I love them dearly and they love me dearly. and I can’t forget my 2 sweet peas, they are full of love and happiness. They are just so special in their own ways. Now that’s family and love. I wouldn’t change that for the world.

domestic violence

My thought on domestic violence is that the courts need to come down more harsh on people who do these things. This is an unacceptable behavior among anyone. People should not just be mad because Ray Rice has beat his now wife. it should have been taken more seriously. More people die from domestic violence in a year than anything else.

Comcast cable tv

I have had the recent experience of having to change cable television companies. I had Verizon Fios for like 4-5 years. I believe. I recently moved to a new area and they do not have fios cable nor internet, only telephone. I really liked verizon they are top notch in my book. I never received the wrong hardware for my package. Which was the top of the line premium package and I had DVR. I never received any scams, if there was a better deal I could get it with no problems and low and behold I never had any outages. Well my recent experience with comcast really sucks bad. I do not care for this company. Lets see they have my order all messed up. I didn’t receive the correct hardware for my cable. I don’t have all the channels and in fact my bill is much more than with verizon.  They charge for DVR verizon doesn’t. Then the rep tried to tell me I didn’t know what I had ordered. I said I do and I have it on email. Then the kicker was just about everyday I get a stupid phone call from someone telling me my son is dead and then they act as if they are with the state police. I’m like really. This is bs. At the end of the conversation with the rep I told him their service sucked and I cannot wait for verizon to come to my area. Comcast is not the best. In fack they charge you for everything. They can’t even stop the scamming phone calls; which make me thing it is an employee because I never received one when I have verizon. Which service do you think is best? Please weigh in.

Schools

People today don’t seem to care much about school much anymore. What is the problem with schools in this day and age. Have we as parents made things so easy for the children to rebel or have we helped them succeed in becoming nothing? I feel that both authorities and parents have made it easier for children to get away with many things. What’s your views?
